Day in Wellington by Woody

We had a fun day in Wellington.
We did three different things.

In Wellington it was one of the best days on or camp. We went sailing.
We got told some rules then we put some sunscreen on so we didn’t burn our faces. She told us to put on a jacket, some big trousers and a life jacket so if we fell out we could float and it wouldn’t be as cold.
We got onto the yacht but we had to get out of where all the boats are. Our yachts motor wasn’t working so we got a speed boat and it helped get us out.
When we got some speed up, we put the sails up and we had turns at steering.
We went quite far out and I thought it was really fun!

At Te Papa I saw this motor bike which got made in his garage and that must have been really hard.
We went to this antique shop which was a kind of movie and when it closed we saw all this cool stuff.

We went roller blading. It was fun because me and Scott were really good and we went along the waterfront, but cars could still come past so we had to be careful. When we fell over it hurt quite a bit and not many people were use to roller blading.

Rock climbing. This was fun and hard because you needed a lot of arm strength and leg strength to pull yourself up. There was a rope that you needed a lot of arm strength and I got just a half way…then I couldn’t do it any more because I was very sore.
The belayers held us up there so if we feel we wouldn’t drop to the ground, we would just hang there and if they keep pulling it helps us get up.
We had dinner at Mc Donalds

Going to Wellington this day was fun because we got to go a train. There was some long tunnels and some short ones. It goes quite fast through the hills but when it is through town it slows down quite a lot. Heaps of people were on the train and it was very busy!
